Moving home is one of the most stressful things you can do, and adding a newborn baby into the mix is just asking for trouble! But with the help of our 3 top tips for moving house with a baby, the only thing you’ll have to worry about is where to put everything!

  1. Keep their routine consistent
You’ve just moved half way across the country and your whole life has literally turned upside down, your clothes are in boxes and you don’t even know where the kettle is, but with a baby in tow it’s vital that you stick to some sort of ‘normal’ routine while you make the move. This means being strict about meal times, bed times, and play times, and keeping the change as gradual as possible for your little one.
  1. Pack a bag
You might not have any idea where your own stuff is, or how long it’s going to take you to unpack, but keeping a bag with you at all times with all of your important baby bits and pieces can be a real life-saver. The last thing you need is to be half way through changing a dirty nappy before you realise that the wipes are at the bottom of the box marked ‘bathroom’.
  1. Make time for them
It’s always helpful to call in a few favours from friends and family so you can get a chance to start sorting your new home out while your baby is looked after, but make sure that you set aside some down time for you and your baby so they can get accustomed to their new environment. Set up a play pen in your new living room while you sort through boxes, or even start putting them down for daytime naps in their new room to help them adjust.

No matter how stressful moving home is, there’s nothing as rewarding as settling down with your family after all the hard work is done. Follow our tips for a quick and easy move that keeps everyone happy.
